It was a memorable evening at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, Queens, NY. Musical evening was followed by celebrating the previous champions. The only time when one could witness all time Tennis greats under one roof (or, sky): Martina Navratilova, Rod Laver, John McEnroe, Ivan Lindl, Chris Evert, Monica Seles, Gabriela Sabatini, Mats Wilander etc….These were among my childhood heroes. The rest of the champions who joined them are of recent origin of course, including Roddick, Williams sisters, Sharapova etc.
What a splendid get-together. And was I glad I had brought with me the 100-400mm!
